How to install a map

Click the button next to the map name you want to download. A popup will appear inviting you to open, save, or cancel. Click the save option and pick a handy place like your desktop to download it to. When the download is complete, unpack the folder. The unpacked folder will contain at least one other folder called Map which contains a *.prh file, this is the map. There may be additional folders called Music (containing a *.ogg file) and occasionally StaticMesh or Textures folders. Copy the contents of each folder to the same named folder in your Pariah game directory e.g copy the map file ( *.prh file) to the map folder, the music file ( *.ogg file) to the music folder etc.

Now the tricky bit.

If you want the map to appear in your map list then you need to need delete a file called xMapList.int which you will find in your Pariah system folder. Don't delete ANY other file and don't worry about deleting xMapList.int, a new version will be created when you next run the game. This new version of xMapList.int will include details of the custom map you have just added. It always pays to play safe so make a backup of the xMapList.int file before you delete it and save the copy to your desktop.

Want more

If there are maps out there that you have played or you are an author who would like me to make your work available on this site, send me an email and I'll try and sort something. There is only so much disc space, so I won't guarantee to be able to host everything, but right now there is plenty of room for more. I do guarantee one thing though, and that is, I will maintain this site until Christmas 2007.

Authors

Without you there would be nothing here, so from me personally and no doubt all those who find there way to this page, a big thank you, awesome stuff.

Most of the content has been passed to me by others in the game and for the most part all I got was a map. If when you originally distributed the map it was done so in a package which included installation notes / information about the map then I don't have it. If you would like me to replace the package I do have with one of your own please get in touch. If you would like me to remove any map's authored by yourself then drop me a line and I will do it immediately.

This site generates no income. I've dedicated part of the available resource to provide Pariah gamers with access to some of the great custom content so skilfully created. Great though it is, it sure makes a refreshing change to play something different to the standard fare on offer. Happy shooting everyone.
